Job summary

SCAYLE Commerce Engine is seeking an experienced backend engineer to design and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and microservices powering the checkout experience. You will build event-driven pipelines with AWS SNS/SQS and optimize heavy-traffic databases and caches.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend development experience with senior-level ownership.
• Proficient in PHP 8.x and Laravel, Symfony, or modern frameworks.
• Strong relational databases and caching (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis).
• Experience designing APIs/microservices with OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Experience with asynchronous processing using SNS/SQS.
• Containerization and CI/CD workflows (Docker, Git, GitLab CI).
• Fluent English with clear, solution-oriented communication.

• Design and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and microservices (PHP/Laravel/Symfony) powering the checkout experience
• Build event-driven pipelines using AWS SNS/SQS for asynchronous payment, order, and inventory processing
• Optimize database queries (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and Redis cache layers to handle massive traffic spikes smoothly
• Write automated tests, review pull requests, and advocate for sustainable architecture and clean code
• Collaborate daily with product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-impact improvements in short sprints
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and balance long-term code health with pragmatic product delivery

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend development experience with senior-level ownership
• PHP 8.x mastery using Laravel, Symfony, or modern enterprise frameworks
• Relational database & caching skills (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis)
• API & microservice design with OpenAPI/Swagger standards
• Asynchronous processing experience using SNS/SQS
• Containerization & CI/CD workflow knowledge (Docker, Git, GitLab CI)
• Fluent English with transparent, solution-oriented communication

Nice To Have
