As our People Operations & Talent Manager, you will be the central personof our People Team (for now) and serve as the go-to person for all HR and People-related matters. In this role, you may also have the opportunity to lead a junior team member in the near future. You will oversee the entire employee life cycle—from recruiting and onboarding to payroll, labor law compliance, development, and offboarding ensuring a seamless experience for our growing and diverse workforce.
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
Own the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, sourcing strategies, interviewing, and offer management.
Collaborate with hiring managers to fill roles across the company, with a focus on ramping up our new services business unit.
Leverage employer branding initiatives to attract top talent in a competitive tech market.
Onboarding & Offboarding
Design and implement a welcoming, structured onboarding program for new hires, ensuring smooth integration into the team.
Manage the offboarding process to maintain positive relationships and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Payroll, Benefits & Labor Law
Oversee monthly payroll in partnership with finance/payroll providers, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Administer and manage employee benefits, staying current on local market practices.
Maintain full compliance with German labor laws and regulations, updating policies and procedures as needed.
Employee Relations & Engagement
Act as a first point of contact for all People-related inquiries, providing guidance to employees and managers.
Handle employee relations issues professionally, mediating conflicts and advising leadership on best practices.
Develop and drive engagement initiatives that foster a positive, inclusive work culture.
Performance Management & Development
Implement and refine performance review processes that enable regular feedback, career development, and growth opportunities.
Identify training needs in collaboration with managers and facilitate learning programs that support employee development.
Strategic Initiatives & Team Leadership
Partner with the leadership team to develop a strategic People roadmap, focusing on sustainable growth and retention.
Use HR metrics to inform decision-making and identify areas for continuous improvement.
Potentially supervise and mentor a junior People/HR professional, shaping a growing People Team.
Support for New Services Business Unit
Work closely with management to define staffing needs and roles for the newly introduced services business unit.
Develop tailored onboarding and training programs to support rapid ramp-up of this new area.
Culture & Employer Branding
Promote a high-performing, inclusive culture that aligns with company values.
Drive communication strategies to showcase our culture and opportunities both internally and externally
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus).
3+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a tech or startup environment with at least 2 years in Talent Acquisition and 2 years in People Operations each.
Proven track record in payroll management and understanding of German labor law is essential.
Language Skills
Fluency in English and German is required (both written and spoken).
Technical & Professional Skills
Solid experience working with HRIS, ATS, and standard office tools (e.g., MS Office/Google Workspace).
Strong knowledge of German labor laws, including contract management, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Proactive, solution-focused mindset with the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.
