Job summary

Scalable Capital is seeking a Senior Operations Payment Manager to own daily reconciliation, SEPA payment processing, and liquidity management. You will design scalable processes and drive improvements to reduce risks and optimise operations.

You will supervise team members, ensuring high quality execution across the group. The ideal candidate has banking or finance education with several years in financial services, deep knowledge of SEPA and reconciliation, and strong communication in English

Qualifications

• Banking apprenticeship or Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and strong financial acumen.
• Multiple years of experience in financial services; back/middle-office exposure preferred.
• Deep knowledge of payment and banking processes (SEPA, reconciliation) and familiarity with backend tech and external partner dependencies.
• Ability to handle ambiguity, evaluate results, and inform stakeholders while prioritising business-critical aims.
• Calm under time pressure with clear, concise communication in English; German a plus.

• You will take end-to-end ownership of daily reconciliation, SEPA payment processing, and liquidity management, ensuring operational continuity and restoring processes in case of outages
• You will design scalable processes from scratch, identify optimization potential beyond your immediate scope, and prioritize improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence as well as eliminate operational risks and control gaps
• You will supervise, guide, and mentor team members below your level to ensure high quality standards and flawless execution across the team
• You will evaluate complex cash transaction analyses and solution proposals, make fact-based decisions, and align with internal stakeholders across various seniority levels
• You will coordinate and be responsible for communication with external partners for liquidity management and SEPA payments like trustees and central banks as well as service providers

• You successfully completed a banking apprenticeship or a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent
• You gained multiple years of experience in financial services; involvement in a bank’s middle or back office is preferred
• You have deep, comprehensive knowledge of payment and banking processes, such as SEPA payments and account reconciliation, including the backend technologies and external partner dependencies
• You are able to deal with ambiguity, evaluate results, make fact-based decisions, and update relevant stakeholders while managing competing business-critical priorities
• You show composure in stressful, time-sensitive situations that require a quick and diligent response
• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and are fluent in English (written and spoken); German is a plus
