Senior Operations Analyst - AIF Depositary (M / F)

In its capacity as Depositary bank for alternative investment funds (AIFs), Banque Internationale à Luxembourg SA (BIL) provides investor protection by overseeing the general administration of the funds, the safekeeping of the fund's assets, ownership verification, record keeping of other assets, and monitoring cash flows. Your role is to ensure that all depositary duties and obligations are performed in accordance with the applicable regulation.

Responsibilities:

• As part of the AIF Depositary team, you will be responsible for safekeeping and verifying the ownership of the AIFs assets, monitoring cash flow activities, and performing oversight controls.
• Ensure that procedures and controls comply with applicable laws and keep up to date with legislation, professional standards, and regulatory changes.
• Perform due diligence on fund service providers and be involved in on-site inspections.
• Attend periodic client service meetings.
• Maintain and enhance depositary procedures, review programs, and checklists.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 7 years in the (Luxembourgish) fund industry.
• University degree (finance, business administration, audit, legal).
• Bac +3 / 5 or equivalent professional experience.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken, and ideally French and/or German. Any other language is considered an advantage.
• Extensive knowledge of banks' organizations and activities, workflows, operational risk management processes/tools and challenges.
• Knowledge of financial products and services such as cash/treasury management, securities (transactions, safekeeping), financing, and capital markets solutions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent knowledge of the AIFMD and the legal and regulatory framework of Luxembourg investment fund vehicles and industry best practices.
• Understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Depositary bank.
• Familiarity with alternative asset classes such as Private Equity, Private Debt, Real Estate, and Infrastructure.
• Experience in operational risk assessment and monitoring, enhancement of processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of the drivers of the European fund industry.
• Strong team player with entrepreneurial skills and a highly supportive attitude.
• Strong presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Strong analytical skills as well as conceptual and strategic thinking.
• Self-organized way of working by delivering high-quality results on time with a good sense of prioritization.
• Accurate, flexible, hands-on, and delivering the best work when facing tight deadlines.
• Qualifications such as experience in the AIF depositary function, especially in investment restrictions controls, and certifications in audit/control/risk management are considered advantages.
