Key Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, monitor, and report operational risks in strict adherence to internal frameworks and regulatory requirements, including MaRisk and Basel III, operating within the second line of defense.
• Lead comprehensive operational risk identification and assessment activities, encompassing Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA), scenario analysis, and robust loss database management.
• Drive proactive follow-up on operational risk events, conducting in-depth lessons-learned analyses with relevant business units to enhance control effectiveness and prevent recurrence.
• Provide independent and expert operational risk input and challenge to new projects and during the New Product Approval Process, ensuring risk considerations are embedded from inception.

Eligibility & Requirements

Given the scope of this role, we anticipate candidates will possess:

• Demonstrable experience in operational risk management within the financial services or FinTech sector, ideally in a second line of defense capacity.
• Profound understanding and practical experience with regulatory frameworks such as MaRisk and Basel III.
• Proven expertise in operational risk identification and assessment methodologies, including RCSA, scenario analysis, and managing loss databases.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough risk event analyses and derive actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with various business units and senior stakeholders.
• A proactive, results-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative international team.
