We are looking for a (Senior) Network Engineer who are responsible for the day-to-day operation of SAP’s PlusOne Network Internal Data Center (IDC) network infrastructure. Ideal candidates have a strong understanding of network infrastructure and the ability to administer and troubleshoot network infrastructure to deliver exceptional support to our customers.

If you are a Networking Engineer (f/m/d) with experience with Cisco switching, Cisco routing, Security/Firewall Experience & Network Automation Skills and wish to be part of a global team supporting world-class Cloud Operations, you could be the perfect match for this job.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures especially with Cisco EVPN VXLAN fabrics and Cisco Routing.

What you bring

• Proven experience (5+ years) in network engineering, with a strong focus on Cisco Routing and Switching
• Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF)
• Experience with network security technologies and best practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Strong proficiency in network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Ansible, Python, Bash)
• Strong analytical skills, proactive thinking and the strong will to continuously improve the quality of the network
• Superior written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with colleagues of all levels, as well as vendors and suppliers. SAP conducts business in English, German skills are a big plus.
• Participating in shift rotations and willingness to perform changes during weekend
