Position: Software Developer for Digital Surgery

Location: Freiburg, Germany (Hybrid model)

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a platform and software for digital surgery integrating sensors, imaging, and navigation.
  • Create concepts and prototypes for new surgical applications.
  • Build well-structured, maintainable software components using modern design approaches.
  • Collaborate within a scrum team with software developers, architects, engineers, UX designers, and product owners.
  • Engage with surgical users to define technical and application requirements.
  • Participate in all product development phases, including concepts, implementation, testing, and validation.
  • Ensure compliance with medical software standards, developing, integrating, and validating software modules.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in medical image analysis or related fields (preferred).
  • Initial experience with navigation systems, augmented reality, or organ/instrument tracking in laparoscopy (beneficial).
  • Knowledge of machine learning and AI inference.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python.
  • Experience with requirements engineering and clinical user contact (beneficial).
  • Experience with real-time programming on Linux, ROS2, or distributed systems (beneficial).
  • Familiarity with technologies like Qt, OpenCV, GTest, Git, Azure DevOps, Linux, RT Linux (advantageous).
  • Experience in regulated fields such as medical, aerospace, or automotive (desirable).
