Position: Software Developer for Digital Surgery
Location: Freiburg, Germany (Hybrid model)

Responsibilities:
- Develop a platform and software for digital surgery integrating sensors, imaging, and navigation.
- Create concepts and prototypes for new surgical applications.
- Build well-structured, maintainable software components using modern design approaches.
- Collaborate within a scrum team with software developers, architects, engineers, UX designers, and product owners.
- Engage with surgical users to define technical and application requirements.
- Participate in all product development phases, including concepts, implementation, testing, and validation.
- Ensure compliance with medical software standards, developing, integrating, and validating software modules.
Qualifications:
- PhD in medical image analysis or related fields (preferred).
- Initial experience with navigation systems, augmented reality, or organ/instrument tracking in laparoscopy (beneficial).
- Knowledge of machine learning and AI inference.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python.
- Experience with requirements engineering and clinical user contact (beneficial).
- Experience with real-time programming on Linux, ROS2, or distributed systems (beneficial).
- Familiarity with technologies like Qt, OpenCV, GTest, Git, Azure DevOps, Linux, RT Linux (advantageous).
- Experience in regulated fields such as medical, aerospace, or automotive (desirable).
