QuantumDiamonds GmbH, a cutting-edge technological firm in Munich, seeks a skilled mechatronics or mechanical engineer adept in designing and developing high-precision mechanical systems. In this role, you'll work on pioneering quantum sensing measurement systems, ensuring reliability and integration into automated workflows while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Enjoy competitive benefits including equity participation, generous vacation time, and opportunities for continuous learning in a dynamic, innovative environment.
We are seeking a skilled mechatronics or mechanical engineer to support the development and automation of our quantum sensing measurement systems. In this role, you will design and optimize high-stability mechanical components and motion assemblies that enable sub-micron positioning and reproducible measurements. You will collaborate with engineering partners and vendors to bring the first commercial generation of our precision instruments to market, with a strong focus on system reliability, alignment repeatability, and integration into automated workflows.
Founded in 2022 as a spin-off of TU Munich, QD leverages quantum sensors to rapidly capture three-dimensional current maps within multi-layer chips. Our 30-strong team of physicists, engineers, and data scientists works side by side with major semiconductor manufacturers, helping them in chip debugging and accelerating their yield analysis. Backed by top-tier deep tech investors, semiconductor experts, and strategic public programs, we have ensured long-term stability, shifting from breakthrough to scale - and shaping the next chapter in chip testing.
Picture this:
Design and develop high-precision mechanical assemblies and positioning systems to enable stable and automated quantum sensing measurements.
Identify and evaluate suitable components (e.g., motion stages, mounts, materials) for integration into our metrology setup.
Conduct simulations, tolerance analysis, and mechanical testing to validate designs and ensure long-term stability and reproducibility.
Collaborate closely with optical engineers, electronics engineers, and software developers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into the full measurement workflow.
Communicate directly with manufacturing partners and suppliers to ensure that all components meet our performance and quality requirements.
Document mechanical designs, test results, and integration guidelines in a clear and structured manner.
