We are seeking a highly experienced MDM Architect to lead strategy assessment and modernization of Master Data Management (MDM) platforms for our pharmaceutical and healthcare clients. This role is ideal for a hands-on architect with deep knowledge of industry-specific data domains (e.g., HCP / HCO product location data), legacy MDM technologies, and modern cloud-based platforms like Veeva Network, Reltio, or Informatica Cloud MDM.
You will drive technical assessments, tool selection, and end-to-end migration planning, ensuring alignment with regulatory compliance and business needs in the life sciences sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess current state MDM environments, including legacy systems, data models, data quality, and governance frameworks.
- Define future state MDM architecture tailored to pharma / healthcare needs, focusing on scalability, compliance (e.g., GxP, HIPAA), and interoperability.
- Evaluate and recommend modern MDM platforms with a focus on Veeva Network and other life sciences-oriented tools.
- Develop migration strategies and roadmaps for transitioning from legacy MDM solutions to target platforms.
- Design data models and golden record strategies for domains such as healthcare organizations (HCOs).
- Lead data quality improvement initiatives and support data stewardship processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, compliance, commercial operations, and regulatory affairs.
- Support RFP / RFI processes for MDM tool selection, including vendor evaluation, scoring, and due diligence.
- Ensure integration architecture supports connectivity with CRM (e.g., Salesforce, Veeva Vault CRM), ERP (e.g., SAP), data lakes, and analytics platforms.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on MDM governance, metadata management, and data lifecycle strategies.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in Enterprise Data Architecture or MDM, including at least 3 years in life sciences / pharma.
- Proven track record of leading MDM transformations, including platform migrations and tool selection.
- Strong expertise in Veeva Network and at least one other modern MDM platform (e.g., Reltio, Informatica).
- Solid understanding of pharma-specific data domains, regulatory needs, and commercial operations (e.g., field force alignment, HCP targeting).
- Experience with data governance, data quality frameworks, and data stewardship models.
- Strong knowledge of MDM integration patterns and APIs (e.g., for syncing with Salesforce, SAP, Veeva CRM).
- Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple engagements in parallel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with integrating external data service providers for HCP / HCO data such as Veeva OpenData and IQVIA OneKey.
- Knowledge of GxP compliance, HIPAA, IDMP, or OpenData / IQVIA data integration.
- Familiarity with cloud-native architecture patterns (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Prior experience in a consulting or professional services firm.
