Job Summary

The Senior Manager Process Engineering leads, coordinates and directs the Engineering/ Production process as well as project portfolio. This role is responsible for meeting objectives related to developing projects, validation activities and supporting production team. This role is key in delivering the overall vision, constantly initiating improvements to ensure processes meet present and future requirements in terms of quality, growth, flexibility and cost improvement. Provides a high level of leadership for the process engineering team and assures acquisition of best talent and performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Technical and disciplinary overall responsibility for the Process Engineering department in Eschweiler and the sub-areas Process Engineering Projects & Envision
  • Development and management of complex Process Engineering projects, including innovation projects
  • Member of the Eschweiler Management Team
  • Continuous development of processes
  • Support and advising of plant management
  • Development of the department's strategic direction
  • Budget responsibility for the Process Engineering department in Eschweiler
  • Responsibility for ensuring an efficient Process Engineering service
Additional Responsibilities

Education

  • Diploma or Master's degree in Engineering in the fields of Mechanical Engineering with focus on Production Technology, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar
Work Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in a comparable position, preferably in a pharmaceutical environment.
  • Experience in the areas of validation/qualification and process optimization of manufacturing workflows or machines, capability analyses, as well as analyses of production processes according to process engineering, qualitative, and economic aspects.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience as well as in projects required.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of GMP and ISO, as well as Six Sigma and Lean knowledge.
  • Very good German and English language skills, both spoken and written.
  • Familiarity with project management tools
  • Analytical thinking and structured working method, along with excellent communication skills
  • Leadership, managerial and interpersonal skills
License and Certifications

Travel Requirements

5%: Up to 13 business days per year

Physical Requirements

Sedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
