We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager, Payments to join our Payments Service Domain in Berlin, responsible for building a world-class payments platform that processes millions of transactions globally.
As Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers and engineering managers to develop global solutions, collaborating closely with product managers, analytics, and other engineering teams to drive adoption of our payment platform across our global brands.
You will define and own the engineering strategy, roadmap, and delivery for Payment Services applications, ensuring successful integration across global brands.
You will mentor and support Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers to improve effectiveness and develop top talent.
Drive architectural and system design best practices for high-load, accuracy-critical systems, and participate in architecture reviews to uphold quality standards.
Set and exceed standards for security, reliability, performance, and scalability to maintain a trusted payments platform.
Continuously improve engineering processes, including documentation, staffing, delivery, and project management.
Partner with talent acquisition teams to recruit, retain, and develop strong engineering talent while leading cross-functional initiatives.
Qualifications
An engineering background capable of evaluating complex technical decisions, identifying potential problems, and proposing solutions.
Recent proven experience in building and maintaining global payment systems, with an interest in emerging trends and key players in the global payments landscape.
7+ years of engineering management experience, including managing managers for at least 2 years.
Ability to grow teams, recruit and retain engineering leaders, and manage performance.
Experience managing high-complexity, high-traffic projects or applications, especially with large distributed systems.
Adaptability to change and pragmatic problem-solving skills.
