Job summary

ME is seeking a seasoned DevOps leader to head a global team focused on infrastructure platforms (system and cloud). You will own reliability, high availability, DR and security, while driving automation and cost optimization across multiple cloud environments.

You will mentor engineers, manage follow-the-sun on-call rotations, and design software to improve system availability, latency and efficiency. Strong collaboration across international teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology.
• 7+ years of DevOps experience in a large enterprise.
• Experience leading global teams.
• Excellent communication and ownership.
• Experience with IaC (CloudFormation or Terraform).
• Proficiency with Kubernetes and cloud vendors (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI).

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of DevOps Engineers on infrastructure projects (System and Cloud) and ensure reliability, high availability, disaster recovery and security.
• Own end-to-end availability and performance of the infrastructure platform and automate to prevent recurrence.
• Mentor the team and demonstrate credibility through quality execution.
• Manage on-call rotations across continents using a follow-the-sun model.
• Design, write and deliver software to improve availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of systems.
• Focus on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure, and eliminating manual work through automation.
• Focus on cloud and system cost optimization; FINOPS experience is a plus.
• Debug system-level problems in a multi-vendor, multi-protocol environment with high-level technical expertise.
• Document analysis, customer communication and actions within SLA post-engagement.
• Collaborate across multiple global engineering teams.

To Fly High In This Role, You Have

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology with 7 + years of DevOps experience in a large enterprise organization. Proven experience in leading global teams.
• Excellent communication skills and a sense of ownership, with a systematic problem-solving approach.
• Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• Infrastructure as a code – CloudFormation or Terraform
• Microservice architecture & orchestration – Kubernetes / K8S / ECS
• Access Control Policy / RBAC
• Python / Go (Golang) / C++ / Java/
• Bash or shell scripting
• A good understanding of Linux/Unix
• Experience with any cloud vendors like AWS, GCP, OCI, Azure, private cloud etc.
• Salt Stack/Ansible/Chef/puppet
• Experience with Source Code Management tools (Git, Gitlab, SVN) and an understanding of branching and integration processes.
• Monitoring – SLI/SLO/SLA
• Continuous integration/Deployment experience – Jenkins, Harness
• Management – accountability, partnership

It Would Be Great If You Also Have

• Industry-relevant certifications such as AWS, Azure, GCP (Google Cloud Platform), CISSP, Cisco, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
• Knowledge of Java and SQL
