Job summary

Skyhigh Security is seeking a senior DevOps Leader to drive reliability, performance, and automation for large-scale infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments.

You will mentor a global team, design scalable architectures and implement IaC, CI/CD, and monitoring to meet SLA targets. Strong communication and ownership are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology with 7+ years of DevOps experience in a large enterprise.
• Excellent communication skills and ownership with a systematic problem-solving approach.
• Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• Infrastructure as code – CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Microservice architecture & orchestration - Kubernetes / K8S / ECS.
• Access Control Policy / RBAC.
• Programming in Python / Go / C++ / Java, Bash scripting.
• Linux/Unix proficiency and knowledge of cloud vendors (AWS, GCP, OCI, Azure).
• SaltStack/Ansible/Chef/puppet familiarity.
• Source code management: Git, GitLab, SVN; branching & integration processes.
• Monitoring - SLI/SLO/SLA and CI/CD with Jenkins or Harness.
• Strong management mindset with accountability and partnership.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of DevOps Engineers on infrastructure and cloud projects with focus on reliability, HA, DR and security.
• Own end-to-end availability and performance, and build automation to prevent recurrence of problems.
• Mentor the team and establish credibility through high-quality technical execution.
• Manage on-call rotations across continents using a follow-the-sun model.
• Design, write and deliver software to improve availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.
• Optimize existing systems, build infrastructure, and drive automation to reduce manual work.
• Emphasize cloud and cost optimization; FINOPS experience is a plus.
• Debug system-level problems in a multi-vendor environment with high expertise.
• Document analysis and actions within the SLA post-engagement and communicate with customers.
• Collaborate across multiple global engineering teams.

Job description

In this role, you can expect to

• Lead a team of DevOps Engineers on projects for infrastructure platforms (System and Cloud) and be responsible for reliability, high availability, disaster recovery and security etc.
• Own end-to-end availability and performance of infrastructure platform and build automation to prevent problem recurrence.
• Lead by example, mentor the team and establish credibility through quality technical execution.
• Manage on-call rotations across continents, using a follow-the-sun model.
• Design, write and deliver software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of systems.
• Focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure, and eliminating work through automation.
• Focuses on Cloud and system cost optimization. Prior FINOPS experience is a plus.
• Debug system-level problems in a multi-vendor, multi-protocol network environment with high-level technical expertise on complex issues.
• Resolve all technical issues, clearly documenting the analysis and customer communication and action items within the SLA post engagement.
• Experience collaborating across multiple global engineering teams.

• A good understanding of Linux/Unix
• Experience with any cloud vendors like AWS, GCP, OCI, Azure, private cloud etc.
• Salt Stack/Ansible/Chef/puppet
• Experience with Source Code Management tools (Git, Gitlab, SVN) and an understanding of branching and integration processes.
• Monitoring - SLI/SLO/SLA
• Continuous integration/Deployment experience – Jenkins, Harness
• Management - accountability, partnership

It would be great if you also have:

• Industry-relevant certifications such as AWS, Azure, GCP (Google Cloud Platform), CISSP, Cisco, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
• Knowledge of Java and SQL
