Do you have the business savvy, Data Estate Modernization background, and sales skills necessary to help position AWS as the leading cloud and AI provider for customers? By establishing and growing business and technical relationships, and managing the day-to-day interactions with these stakeholders, you will be responsible for driving top line revenue growth and overall end customer adoption of our comprehensive data and AI solutions.

As a Leader for Germany Data & AI Specialist team, you will lead overall sales strategy for AWS' Data and AI Portfolio of services for our Germany based customers. These include Storage, Database, Analytics, and AI / ML services such as Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Bedrock, and our generative AI offerings. You will lead a senior sales team across the region, leveraging sales plays, partners, and building new initiatives that drive results for our customers through innovative data and AI solutions. Your team provides critical feedback from customers to inform our product roadmap, and you will work closely with our partner network to build a partner ecosystem supporting our customers' AI transformation journey and business goals.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own overall Sales strategy for Data / AI products across customer segments in Germany
  • Manage a team of Sales Specialists and indirectly lead Sales and Specialized Solutions Architects to solve problems and accelerate adoption for your customers / technology domain.
  • Interact at the CxO / VP level, as well as developers and technical architects, to develop pipeline, secure lighthouse customers, drive top-line revenue, and explore strategic partnerships.
  • Enable account teams on Data Modernization sales plays, programs and services, as well as well as technology and consulting partner channels.
  • Partner with business development and Go-To-Market specialist and solutions architecture teams to accelerate Data Estate Modernization opportunities within strategic customer segments and key accounts
  • Meet or exceed annual revenue targets
  • Develop long-term and strategic relationships with key accounts and stakeholders

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • several years experience leading high performance teams in a matrix environment
  • several years of relevant Sales, GTM (Go-To-Market), or Consulting experience
  • several years of technology experience in Data & AI
  • fluent german and english skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Established track record of building rapport with customer executives (e.g. CEO, COO, CIO, CTO, CMO), building close relationships, and closing large revenue accounts, ideally across multiple industries.
  • Experience and success in negotiating complex deals with customers and partners. You've not only carried quotas, you've consistently exceeded them by doing the right thing for your customer.
  • Experience in a heavily matrix sales environment, including developing, implementing, managing, and executing cross-functional solutions-led go-to-market growth initiatives and sales motion.
  • Deep understanding of cloud technologies, including public and hybrid cloud platforms.
  • Technical background in engineering, computer science, or Management Information Systems a plus.
