About your role

As a Senior Cloud Architect, you will serve as the technical lead for the strategic design, development, and governance of secure, scalable, and cost-effective AWS cloud infrastructure across the organisation. You will act as a subject matter expert and technical leader, shaping DevOps practices and cloud strategies in alignment with business and regulatory requirements.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as the technical lead for the architecture and governance of AWS cloud infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture.
  • Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to internal DevOps and infrastructure teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the automation strategy for infrastructure deployment and management, driving improvements in efficiency, security, and reliability.
  • Lead the development and evolution of the CI/CD ecosystem, guiding teams to implement consistent and robust pipelines across projects.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders and external partners to influence technology decisions, assess solutions, and drive innovation.
  • Perform high-level architectural assessments to evaluate emerging technologies and guide investment decisions.
  • Ensure operational excellence by monitoring cloud infrastructure health, performance, and incident response protocols.
  • Coordinate critical incident response efforts, acting as the escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
  • Bring expertise in cloud security and compliance frameworks, particularly for banking industry standards and regulatory requirements (preferred but not mandatory).

About you

You are a strategic and hands-on technology leader with deep expertise in cloud infrastructure and DevOps, capable of influencing cross-functional teams and shaping the organisation’s cloud direction. You combine technical excellence with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

You bring:

Must have:

  • A deep understanding of DevOps principles and Infrastructure-as-Code, with the ability to guide enterprise-level adoption.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt, CloudFormation) and managing end-to-end CI/CD pipelines at scale.
  • Proven leadership in the design and operation of enterprise-grade AWS solutions, including services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, EC2.
  • Expertise in source code management practices (e.g., Git/GitHub), with a focus on governance and best practices.
  • Experience working with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence and contributing to DevOps process maturity.
  • Proficiency in German (B2 or above) and fluency in English, with the ability to engage with technical and executive stakeholders in both languages.

Nice to have is:

  • A strong background in governance and security within regulated environments (e.g., banking or financial services).
  • Knowledge of container orchestration and runtime environments (e.g., Docker, Podman; Kubernetes is a plus).
