We’re looking for an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer to provide competent and cost-effective maintenance and engineering support, service, advice, solutions, and techniques to maximize plant availability in a safe and legally compliant manner.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all statutory requirements are met in accordance with the OHS Act.
  • Supporting ISO9020 (Quality Management System), ISO14001 (Environmental Management Standards), ISO50001 (Energy Management System), ISO 55001 (Asset Management System), and OHSAS18000 (Health and Safety Management System). Educating the team on these standards and monitoring adherence.
  • Driving the use of plant reliability monitoring techniques to ensure proactive maintenance and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Communicating objectives, schedules, and budgets to the team; providing updates and addressing deviations.
  • Identifying cost-effective plant and equipment improvements; preparing and presenting business cases for approval.
  • Managing spare parts inventory levels and approvals via the XCPIMs system.
  • Monitoring equipment failures, breakdowns, accidents, and overtime; conducting root cause analyses and implementing preventive measures.
  • Managing projects for equipment renewal and capital investments, ensuring timely completion within budget, and complying with project management standards.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, building relationships with production teams, and resolving plant issues.
  • Conducting root cause analyses, reviewing evidence, and implementing corrective actions, including expenditure justifications.
  • Ensuring equipment Quality Control Plans (QCPs) meet standards and are properly developed and reviewed.
  • Overseeing recruitment, performance management, development, and discipline within the maintenance and production teams.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BSc/BEng/BTech/Advanced Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience as an Electrical/Mechanical Engineer in a heavy industry or manufacturing environment.
  • At least 5 years managing multidisciplinary maintenance teams.
  • Government Certificate of Competency.
  • MDP or equivalent qualification is advantageous.
  • Experience with Paper Machines is advantageous.
