AI Futures have been exclusively retained to find a Machine Learning Engineer for a global DAX40 company headquartered in Düsseldorf. With over €5B in annual revenue, the company is scaling its AI & Data Science function to transform key areas including retail operations, customer experience, and financial forecasting.

This is a greenfield opportunity to design and implement AI-powered systems across a range of high-impact use cases—from intelligent pricing and inventory optimisation to marketing automation and digital retail tools. You’ll work in a flat, collaborative structure with direct access to leadership and the CTO.

You will be required to be based in Düsseldorf 2 days per week.

The salary is up to €120k.

The Role

• Build and deploy ML models for use in retail, marketing, operations, and forecasting
• Develop scalable, cloud-based infrastructure for real-time data and AI applications
• Partner with business stakeholders to identify and prioritise ML opportunities
• Bring fresh thinking to retail challenges—e.g. demand prediction, customer segmentation, and personalisation
• Lead innovation initiatives with the potential to grow into a leadership role within 12 months

The Candidate

• 3+ years experience in machine learning or applied data science
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or similar
• Strong Python and SQL skills; experience deploying models into production
• Familiar with cloud platforms (AWS preferred; Azure or GCP also welcome)
• Strong communicator with experience in product-facing or business-aligned ML work
• Fluent in English (German a plus)
