Nordex SE in Hamburg seeks an experienced wind turbine aeroelastic engineer to perform load calculations and stability analyses across turbine platforms. You will develop and validate simulation models, supporting concept through prototype verification and certification documentation.

The role requires at least 5 years in aeroelastic simulation, strong MATLAB skills, and travel willingness. English fluency is essential; German or Spanish is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• At least 5 years in aeroelastic simulation of wind turbines or similar.
• Strong knowledge of aeroelastic software (Alaska, Bladed, HAWC2, FAST/OpenFAST).
• Experience with wind turbine product development, including IEC61400-1 load calculations and certification.
• Experience with HawcStab2 or similar stability analysis tools preferred.
• Understanding of loads for blades, tower/foundation, drivetrain.
• Advanced MATLAB skills.
• Fluent in English; German and/or Spanish preferred.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

This role contributes directly to the safe and reliable design of modern wind turbines. You work closely with experts in aerodynamics, control engineering, structures, and systems engineering. Using advanced simulation tools, you evaluate loads, stability, and structural behavior across different turbine platforms to support robust product development.

YOUR TASKS

• Perform aeroelastic load calculations for wind turbines in accordance with IEC61400-1
• Conduct stability analyses using tools such as Alaska, Bladed, HAWC2 or FAST/OpenFAST
• Develop, validate, and optimize simulation models for various turbine platforms
• Support product development phases from concept evaluation through prototype design to serial verification
• Prepare technical documentation for certification processes and interface with certification bodies
• Analyze simulation results, identify design-driving load cases, and provide engineering recommendations
• Develop MATLAB scripts and tools to improve simulation workflows and data processing

YOUR PROFILE

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Physics, or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience in aeroelastic simulation of wind turbines or similar functions
• Strong knowledge of aeroelastic software such as Alaska, Bladed, HAWC2 or FAST/OpenFAST

• Understanding of load requirements for components such as blades, tower/foundation, or drivetrain
