Qualifikationen

Jobbeschreibung

Your mission

• You are the trusted advisor for the Management Board, the Sales team and all specialist departments at Checkmk on a variety of legal topics related to the business of an international software and SaaS company, e.g. salescontract negotiations, data protection, product related matters, legal conflicts, risk assessments, global expansion, compliance etc.
• You will be drafting, reviewing, and negotiating large scale and complex software license, SaaS, and resale agreements, as well as amendments to such contracts and you will be assisting Sales to drive mid-market sales based on standard processes
• You will be responsible for reviewing and negotiating contracts for the procurement of products and services from different industries
• You oversee and coordinate data protection related topics and ensure data law compliance
• Your further focus lies in the optimization of contract management, the implementation of legal tech and legal ops solutions
• You are responsible for the continuous improvement of open-source compliance in our software development processes
• You will be driving of the establishment of a corporate governance and compliance system
• You will coordinate and deliver internal legal training for different employee groups, e.g. Sales, Support, Professional Services, Product Management, etc.
• You will coordinate and manage external legal advisors and resolve legal and judicial conflicts (formal and informal)
• You will be supporting the global expansion and global roll out of Checkmk from the legal perspective

Your profile

• You have graduated in law from a German University and have passed your second state exam, being eligible to practice law in Germany
• You have spent the past 5+ years of your work life in Software or SaaS companies where you have developed a deep knowledge of IT-/IP- and data protection topics, as well as a good knowledge of other legal disciplines relevant for this industry and you enjoy keeping up with the legal and technical developments in this field
• You are experienced in leading and coordinating various complex contract negotiations with mid-market and enterprise customers, also with US and other global customers and enjoy navigating around the differences of different judicial systems and markets
• Your skills in the field of contract management and legal ops are highly developed and professional and you are open for innovative legal tech approaches, e.g., intake automation, contract lifecycle management and matter management
• You are hands-on and you have a problem-solving attitude with a high bias for action and the skill to reduce complexity
• You are eager to dive deep into the business operations and the machine room of the company and you consider yourself as a valuable business partner and advisor and you are willing to face the challenges of a multicultural software and services company bottom up
• You have a passion for direct communication and for collaboration with various stakeholders in a very fast-paced, multicultural, and dynamic environment and you love to network internationally and across various departments
• You are emotionally intelligent and have empowering, motivation and coordination skills and you enjoy working in virtual teams, who are spread out throughout the world
• Negotiating and drafting in English and German is your thing
