Job Description:

Your way to impact

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will influence the development and success of PayPal's credit products in Germany and other European markets. Your expertise will ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements. By providing strategic legal guidance and embedding a solid business understanding, you will help shape product features and drive PayPal's growth in the credit market, ultimately enhancing our customer experience.

Your day-to-day

In your daily role, you will:

1. Perform legal analysis of new product features for German and European consumer and merchant credit and financial services products.
2. Conduct due diligence on complex regulatory topics and support decision-making processes within PayPal.
3. Analyze new European credit laws and their impact on PayPal's credit products.
4. Collaborate with in-house attorneys, personnel, and outside counsel.
5. Advise and work closely with stakeholders, including senior executives and various business functions.
6. Handle ad-hoc requests and projects as required.

What you need to bring

1. A recognized German law degree with 5-7 years of experience practicing law, ideally focusing on consumer credit law and payments law. Expertise in structured finance is a plus.
2. Maturity, self-motivation, independence, and strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
3. Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders.
4. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
5. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects under deadlines.
6. Team-oriented mindset and collaborative skills.
7. Fluency in English and German; additional languages are a plus.
