Jobtailor in Berlin seeks an experienced senior accountant to build and run an internal accounting function under German GAAP (HGB). You will manage complex transactions, reconcile accounts, and coordinate with tax advisors and auditors to ensure accurate financial statements.

With 5–7 years of accounting experience, you will drive digital adoption, improve processes, and contribute to the company’s accounting strategy and long-term goals. Proficiency in SAP and Excel is essential.

Qualifikationen

• Completed commercial training or a degree in economics, business administration, or a comparable qualification with a focus on accounting or finance.

• Proficiency in standard MS Office applications, particularly Excel.

Aufgaben

• Build an internal accounting function and transition away from the current external service providers.
• Take responsibility for complex accounting transactions, including provisions, accruals and deferrals, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, and foreign currencies.
• Independently prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB), including sophisticated account reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate balance sheet and income statement data in close professional coordination with tax advisors and auditors.
• Analyze and resolve complex accounting and valuation issues, and prepare tax-relevant data, including VAT returns, corporate income tax, and trade tax.
• Support tax audits and provide expert advice to internal stakeholders on accounting and tax matters.
• Independently develop accounting concepts and standards and implement them across the company.
• Analyze, develop, and continuously improve existing business processes, including structured reporting on KPIs and process efficiency.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments; coordinate cross-departmental teams and temporary project assignments as required.
• Support the leadership team in further developing the accounting strategy and contribute to short- and long-term company objectives.
