Join us to make education accessible for all! Strengthen our Engineering Team in full-time (40 hrs./week) as Senior Java Engineer (m/f/d) within Germany or UK, remotely or at one of our office locations.

This role focuses on building and maintaining front-end and backend services, designing SQL queries, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance academic planning tools.

Your Tasks

• Build and maintain applications focusing on academic data and module handbooks.
• Debug multi-stack distributed systems running on JVM and Node.js.
• Reverse-engineer legacy applications to understand and fix user pain points.
• Design and implement robust SQL queries and data models to drive planning intelligence.
• Use Linux command tools for deployment and maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with product managers, owners, tech leads, and stakeholders to shape our planning tools.

Your Profile

• Deep expertise in Java and React/TypeScript, especially React.
• Solid knowledge of SQL, with experience in complex data modeling and query optimization.
• Adaptability, curiosity, and comfort navigating uncharted territory.
• Independent, goal-oriented, and structured working style.
• Strong team spirit and excellent English communication skills; German proficiency is a plus.
