Tasks

• Administration of our Debian Linux server systems, operation of highly available, distributed systems.
• Customizing complex HA solutions, storage systems, and virtualization technologies.
• Administration of Kubernetes, monitoring of servers and services.
• Automate system administration tasks and deployments using Ansible, GitLab pipelines, and Kubernetes.
• Support services for key customers, including database administration (primarily MySQL), leveraging automation and CI/CD pipelines to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (including nights and weekends) to ensure high availability and incident resolution within SLAs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience working with Linux systems (primarily Debian).
• Experience managing on-premises data center infrastructure.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing web servers like nginx and Apache.
• Experience with KVM and other virtualization technologies (e.g., Proxmox, VMware), and MySQL administration, preferably with Percona Cluster.
• Familiarity with load balancing technologies (haproxy, proxySQL) and high availability solutions (pacemaker, heartbeat, keepalived).
• Knowledge of DNS administration using PowerDNS and scripting skills (Bash, Python, Perl) for automation and troubleshooting.

Would be considered a plus:

• Experience configuring and maintaining Firewall and VPN solutions, e.g., OpenVPN, PFsense.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Nagios.
• Experience with backup solutions.
• Networking knowledge (Routing, VLANs, BGP).

Language skills: German C1 and English B2
