Our Toniebox is easy to understand and simple to use – the technologies and processes behind it are all the more complex and demanding. The perfect interplay of physical products and digital solutions is one of the main reasons for the success of the Toniebox, which is why it takes smart minds (like you) to continue driving this forward. As part of our engineering team, you will develop our unique firmware together with an external development service provider. Specifically, you will be responsible for maintaining the stability and user-friendliness of over seven million Tonieboxes worldwide – bringing smiles to children’s faces around the globe.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include :

• Formulating software requirements based on electronic requirements in the form of user stories
• Designing static & dynamic software architecture for embedded software
• Developing existing and new software modules
• Participating in code reviews and conducting module and integration tests
• Identifying problems occurring during operation and translating them into requirements for development

What we are looking for :

• A completed degree in Technical Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable qualification
• At least 3+ years of professional experience in the development of embedded software in the IoT environment – ideally with the use of Zephyr
• Proficiency in Jira and Git, as well aswith SDK, TDD, and API
• You are skilled in testing on hardware, whether with a multimeter, oscilloscope, or logic analyzer
• You enjoy working in an agile environment and across various teams
• Fluent communication in English; ideally, you also understand some German
• Last but not least, you can imagine regularly visiting your team in Düsseldorf
