Violet's mission is to evolve trust in Web3. We are building on-chain compliance and identity management infrastructure.

Violet is a primitive applicable to many use cases, however we are most excited about catalyzing institutional participation across DeFi in the near term. We believe this is key for the industry to expand and become more robust.

Specifically we are initially building an institutional compliance infrastructure product with strong privacy guarantees. We intend this infrastructure to be utilized by DeFi builders as they start engaging institutional liquidity and wish to grow regulatory trust in their platforms.

Infrastructure at Violet is especially challenging given that we are building at the intersection of web2 and web3 - so that makes it the key pillar of all of our engineering efforts, which is why we are looking for a senior infrastructure / backend engineer to help us advance towards our vision of a user owned identity network.

Violet is backed by top crypto investors and traditional investors alike, including BlueYard and founders / senior leadership at Ethereum, Filecoin, Anchorage, Coinbase, Wise, Uniswap, Argent, and many more.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end deployment of our infrastructure, with a particular focus on security, stability and compliance

Help design and build our service reliability, scalability, latency, and uptime SLAs and ensure we meet them - all while remaining focused on our users and developers

Help architect Violet for scale - both in performance but also code design

Work with the entire team to bootstrap and foster a thriving open source community around Violet, utilizing this interface to continuously improve our work and processes

Qualifications

5+ years of experience designing and implementing highly performant and reliable systems in a production environment

Strong software fundamentals (Go, Typescript, Node.js), and experience across API design and distributed systems

Experience with performance optimization, caching, and service scaling; a proven ability to work with infrastructure-as-code tooling

Significant experience deploying production software in an automated and reliable way using standard CI/CD tools (Docker, K8S, etc)

Experience writing concise and beautiful developer documentation

Any experience working across the identity web universe (OAuth, OpenID, DIDs, VCs, etc)

Knowledge and/or passion for blockchain fundamentals, smart contracts, DeFi protocols, etc. * If you have published about your work before (Blog, code, twitter, conferences, etc)

What is it like to work at Violet

Violet is a remote first / distributed organization, with a small hub in Berlin. Today all of our team is in EU time zones and we get together in person every second month for a few days. Recent trips have been to Denver, Amsterdam, and Berlin.
