What to Expect:

In our global organization, Customer Experience & Solution Design, we develop innovative patient solutions.

We need your support in usability engineering and design validation of medical devices (software and hardware). As a member of a SCRUM or project team, you will independently execute complex work packages within usability engineering and design validation, considering time, capacity, and resources, while keeping product and project risks in view.

  • You will significantly contribute to establishing the new agile development model within the organization and be responsible for usability engineering and design validation during the concept phase and within the SCRUM/project team until product market launch, involving relevant specialists.
  • You will create test plans considering all interface functions, applicable standards, regulatory strategy, results of the product risk analysis, and medical aspects.
  • You will provide input in requirement definitions and product risk analysis.
  • You will independently manage usability-focused project control, ensuring that results are delivered on time according to plan.
  • You will delegate work packages to functions outside the global team and external development partners, ensuring correct execution of delegated tasks.
  • You will conduct in-house tests independently and oversee external test execution, including documentation and reporting according to applicable standards.
  • This role involves an average travel requirement of 20%-30% due to usability engineering and design validation tasks.
  • You will be responsible for compiling usability engineering and design validation results for product approvals in target markets (e.g., EU, USA, ROW, China).

Who You Are:
  • You hold a Master’s degree in Human Factors Engineering, Psychology, or a scientific/engineering field, with relevant additional qualifications.
  • You have several years of experience as a development or usability engineer for IVD and medical devices, including testing.
  • You are familiar with conducting user tests and collaborating with external development partners.
  • You excel at bringing creative ideas into complex, agile environments, weighing project and product risks, making decisions, and achieving results.
  • You are flexible within SCRUM teams, capable of switching between planning and execution, and motivating team members.
  • Experience in projects within an agile development organization is preferred.
  • Satisfactory command of English and confident demeanor are essential.
