Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and ambitious Senior Electrical Engineer / Consultant to support our customers in Germany and worldwide in enhancing the affordability, sustainability, and reliability of their high and medium voltage electricity transmission and distribution infrastructure.

You will be part of the Transmission & Distribution Technology (TDT) team in our Dresden or Arnhem office.

The TDT team comprises 90 professionals with diverse backgrounds and cultures, located in Dresden and Arnhem, The Netherlands. We provide specialized consultancy services mainly to transmission and distribution system operators, power utilities, and industries.

Your role involves working on German and international projects, collaborating with other teams within DNV focused on substation projects, asset management, or renewable energy.

Your tasks and responsibilities include:

• Performing engineering and advisory tasks related to high and medium voltage T&D infrastructure
• Designing electrical systems for HVAC/HVDC, substations, cables, and interconnectors
• Managing client projects, including quality assurance and control (QA/QC)
• Developing, reviewing, and processing technical documentation, layouts, designs, specifications, and tender documents
• Evaluating the condition of substations, cables, overhead lines, and their components
• Executing or witnessing commissioning tests such as FAT/SAT
• Writing high-quality reports
• Identifying market opportunities and developing our service portfolio
• Advising clients on regulatory and environmental developments, including energy transition and renewable energy expansion, and their implications on investments and technology
• Transferring knowledge to colleagues

Minimum qualifications:

• BSc, MSc, or PhD in electrical engineering or equivalent
• Advanced knowledge and professional experience with electrical systems in the energy industry

• Interest in project management and consulting
• Good communication skills in English; German language skills are preferred
