Job Description

We're excited to invite an experienced design lead to join our team to manage strategic projects, elevate our user experience, and mentor our talented designers. As a key player, you'll work hand-in-hand with Product Management and Engineering leaders to shape the future of the verticals under your care. In your role as Senior Group Design Manager, you'll not only drive the continuous enhancement of our user experience but also play a pivotal role in integrating your vertical into our overarching Product vision.

What you’ll deliver
  1. Manage and coach a team of 4-6 product designers
  2. Bring strong viewpoints to drive organizational advancement
  3. Serve as a mentor within the larger design organization and provide critical feedback
  4. Foster an atmosphere of trust, inclusion, and purpose
  5. Set clear performance expectations via regular reviews
  6. Scale our product to grow with our design system and brand
  7. Attract, select, and retain a diverse group of high-quality designers
  8. Create and drive design vision and strategy for your product area and collaborate with other senior leaders to execute it
  9. Develop a solid understanding of the SmartRecruiters platform and proactively suggest experience improvements
  10. Review design work to ensure it meets quality standards

Qualifications
  1. 10+ years of experience in Product Design
  2. 5+ years of design management experience
  3. Proven ability to turn complex product design problems into intuitive solutions
  4. Comfort with user research, design systems, and agile methodologies
  5. Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
  6. Experience in a startup-like environment with iterative, value-driven product releases
