Test Engineer – UAS System Testing

• Test Planning and Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures for W198 Copter equipment, system integration, and overall system testing with a focus on ground testing.
• Requirements Analysis: Evaluate test requirements, contribute to their refinement, and ensure they align with project and safety goals.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues during testing, ensuring timely solutions.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of test results, analyze findings, and generate reports for stakeholders.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including internal and external customers, to ensure successful test campaigns.
• Instrumentation: Select and install measurement units, whether market available or in-house developed, as per test needs.
• Standards and Certification: Conduct lab/environmental testing and certification in accordance with MILSTD 810, DO160G, ANATEL, FCC, EMC, etc.
• Lifetime Testing: Develop methods and benches for equipment lifetime testing.

Your profile

• Master’s Degree in aviation engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or similar.
• 7+ years of professional experience in system bench testing or equipment testing, preferably in aviation or automotive domains.
• Deep understanding of equipment-level testing to UAS level testing, including software and hardware aspects.
• Experience with environmental testing (e.g., DO-160G, MIL STD 810) and defining test strategies for product durability and reliability.
• Familiarity with test-driven development, experience-based testing, and iterative V-model development cycle.
• Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Visure (requirement management), Python, PX-4 autopilot, eVTOL UAS, or manned aircraft systems.
• Experience in manned/unmanned aviation and familiarity with EASA and FAA standards is a plus.
• Experience with copter instrumentation for testing is desirable.
