Delivery Hero, a global leader in local delivery, is seeking a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (Kotlin/Java/React) to join the Fintech team in Berlin. You will build Wallet, Payment, and Anti-Fraud solutions and scale our internal Payments engine for use across Delivery Hero’s global operations.

You will design and deliver scalable systems, lead backend and frontend efforts with Java, Kotlin, Spring, Hibernate, JUnit, React, and TanStack, and own services end-to-end with a strong emphasis on

• Proven experience designing and delivering software systems in fintech/payments at global scale.
• Strong backend engineering with distributed systems expertise.
• Hands-on mastery of Java, Kotlin, Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JUnit.

• Ownership mindset with a passion for automation, CI/CD, and reliability.

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (Kotlin/Java/React) to join our Fintech team and build worldwide innovative Wallet, Payment, and Anti-Fraud solutions with us. Work and scale our internal Payments engine that would handle payments for the entire Delivery Hero. • Design, build, and deliver highly scalable software systems operating in complex, global business environments, used across more than 70 countries
• Lead backend and frontend engineering efforts with a strong focus on distributed systems, leveraging Java, Kotlin, modern frameworks such as Spring / Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JUnit and frontend technologies such as React / TanStack.
• Own services end-to-end by embracing a true "you build it, you run it" mindset, with deep involvement in infrastructure automation and continuous deployment.
• Drive high-quality software design by systematically applying design patterns, SOLID principles, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Build secure, resilient systems by applying secure coding best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Influence engineering culture through hands-on leadership, technical mentorship, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and delivering software systems in highly complex business domains at global scale, within fintech /payments.
• Deep backend engineering expertise with a strong preference for distributed systems.
• Hands-on mastery of Java, Kotlin, Spring / Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JUnit.
• Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and React and PostgreSQL.
• A strong engineering ownership mindset with a passion for automation, CI/CD, and reliability.
