Delivery Hero, headquartered in Berlin, seeks a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (Kotlin/Java/React) to build Wallet, Payments, and Anti-Fraud solutions within Fintech. You will scale the internal Payments engine used globally and contribute to the financial backbone for millions of users and merchants.

The role blends backend and frontend work in a hybrid setup at our Berlin campus, with strong ownership and end-to-end responsibility across services.

We are on the lookout for a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (Kotlin/Java/React) to join our Fintech team and build worldwide innovative Wallet, Payment, and Anti-Fraud solutions with us. Work and scale our internal Payments engine that would handle payments for the entire Delivery Hero. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver highly scalable software systems operating in complex, global business environments, used across more than 70 countries
• Lead backend and frontend engineering efforts with a strong focus on distributed systems, leveraging Java, Kotlin, modern frameworks such as Spring / Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JUnit and frontend technologies such as React / TanStack.
• Own services end-to-end by embracing a true “you build it, you run it” mindset, with deep involvement in infrastructure automation and continuous deployment.
• Drive high-quality software design by systematically applying design patterns, SOLID principles, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Build secure, resilient systems by applying secure coding best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Influence engineering culture through hands‑on leadership, technical mentorship, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and delivering software systems in highly complex business domains at global scale, within fintech /payments.
• Deep backend engineering expertise with a strong preference for distributed systems.
• Hands‑on mastery of Java, Kotlin, Spring / Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JUnit.
• Strong hands‑on experience with TypeScript and React and PostgreSQL.
• A strong engineering ownership mindset with a passion for automation, CI/CD, and reliability.
