Overview

Join to apply for the Senior Fullstack Engineer (m/w/d) role at PLACED.

PLACED is a Berlin-based AI SaaS startup on a mission to rebuild the €33B recruitment services industry from scratch. We're building a vertical platform that empowers headhunters and staffing firms with agentic AI, turning outdated, manual workflows into intelligent, automated pipelines.

We’ve got an MVP live, over 30 customers lined up, and strong investors on board. Our V1 launch is just around the corner and we’re looking for a hands-on engineer to help us take the product to the next level. You’ll work on real features for real users with impact from day one.

Responsibilities

• Develop the AI-powered matching system: APIs, data logic, backend pipelines
• Contribute to a scalable, maintainable architecture that supports fast iteration
• Work closely with product and founders to ship features with immediate customer feedback
• Prototype new agentic workflows using AI and automation tools
• Take ownership of specific parts of the system - from data ingestion to external integrations
• Collaborate with a small but growing dev team - mentor juniors and help define best practices

Requirements

• Backend: python, fastapi, pandas, data pipelines, LLMs, openAI, vector search, (and a little of javascript, node.js)
• Frontend: javascript/typescript, react, next.js
• Infrastructure: AWS, terraform, docker, ECS, RDS
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally backend-heavy or fullstack
• You've built, shipped, and maintained production-grade systems
• Strong understanding of data structures, APIs, and scalable architectures
• You enjoy working closely with product and care about the “why” behind the “what”
• You thrive in fast-moving environments and take full ownership of your work
• Bonus: experience with LLMs, vector databases, or recruitment/CRM tools
