Zusammenfassung

Olivaw Robotics in Munich is seeking a senior front-end engineer to take ownership of our core front-end application, focusing on architecture, user experience, and quality.

You will work across the product, with opportunities to contribute back-end and infrastructure work as needed, and you will collaborate closely with a flat engineering team and CTO. This on-site role offers hybrid days by arrangement in a Munich office.

Jobbeschreibung

Named after Asimov's R. Daneel Olivaw, we build the platform layer for service robotics. We manage heterogeneous robot fleets and give robots capabilities they do not have on their own — we call it upskilling. A robot that could not use an elevator now can. Long term, we intend to be the operating system for robot fleets, where new skills install like software.

For an engineer it is a good problem to spend time on: machines moving through the physical world, telemetry at scale, distributed systems in the cloud and on customer hardware, machine learning on top of the data. We enjoy the challenge. If you have a similar mindset and like working on complex problems, you will fit here.

Your Role

This is a full-stack on-site engineering role with a front-end focus.

You will take ownership of our core front-end application — architecture, user experience, quality. This is where most of your time will go.

Over time your work will extend beyond it. Our engineers work across the whole product, and you will too — picking up backend and infrastructure work as your features call for it. You do not need to be an expert there, but solid competence is expected.

Your Ownership

• The architecture and quality of a complex, user-facing application.
• The user experience: the interface people actually work in, held to a high standard.
• The testing strategy — what is critical, what is worth the effort, what is not.
• Features end to end, from the interface through to the services behind it.
• The standard the rest of the team writes to.

What You Bring

• Senior experience where you owned the shape of a system, not only the tickets in it.
• Depth in modern front-end engineering — you design the structure of a large application rather than work inside someone else\'s.
• User experience and interface judgment. You hold interface work to a high standard and can take a feature from idea to polished UI on your own.
• Genuine breadth across backend, data and infrastructure. "That is not my area" is not a sentence we use here.
• Architectural fluency you have actually applied — coupling, boundaries, separation of concerns. We will ask you what you disagree with.

Nice to have:

fluency in German.

TypeScript, React, Go, Python, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Terraform, cloud and on-premise deployments.

Expect to write code with us: live coding in one of the technical conversations, possibly a take-home challenge, and a session on-site in Munich. Bring the machine you normally work on.
