Job summary

Lightspeed is hiring a Senior Frontend Developer to strengthen the backoffice platform for the Hospitality product group. You will contribute to onboarding and merchant configuration, enabling scalable operations for diverse markets.

You’ll collaborate with design and product teams to deliver elegant web interfaces, driving quality and rapid iteration. A strong focus on English communication and modern frontend tooling is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend stacks.
• Experience with React.js/Next.js and CSS-in-JS styling.
• Tests and quality: Cypress or similar testing frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Build new features and workflows for the omnichannel product.
• Design elegant, functional web applications for backoffice.
• Split time between feature development and partner integrations.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Platform teams.
• Promote high code quality and support infrastructure health.

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to join one of our squads where you will be supporting Lightspeed’s Hospitality product group on the mission to expand our reach into new markets and countries while enhancing our advanced hospitality commerce platform.
For this role specifically, you will be joining the team focused on enhancing our backoffice platform. Our mission is to empower our merchants with smooth onboarding and make it easy to configure and manage their business setup—no matter the size or complexity.

You will join a healthy and collaborative team, continuously improving our engineering practices, and delivering state-of-the-art technology, all while keeping it fun. Above all, your work will change the way the world experiences hospitality.

What you'll be responsible for:

• Working alongside some of the most brilliant minds in the industry, you will contribute to the omnichannel product by building new features and creative workflows.

• Design and create beautiful, elegant, and functional web applications.

• Your daily tasks will be split between development of new features and supporting existing integrations with our partners, while new features will dominate as we constantly open new markets.

• Report to the Team Lead of Development and have frequent interactions with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Platform Teams.

• Take part in daily agile ceremonies, brainstorm on innovative ideas that challenge the status quo, and implement solutions.

• Act as an advocate for the highest code quality and ownership while contributing to the health of the infrastructure.

• Raise the bar and elevate your team by sharing knowledge and best practices while always seeking improvement and progress.

What you'll be bringing to the team:

• Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript and CSS-in-JS

• Knowledge of React.js, Next.js, or similar technologies

• Solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and solutions

• Experience developing in a back-end for frontend layer

• Familiarity with writing tests (e2e using Cypress) and ensuring the highest coding standards

• Communication skills in English

• Even better if you have, but not necessary:

• Experience in the development of mobile-first applications

• Familiarity with modern cloud infrastructures

• A keen eye for UI/UX design

• A Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or a related field
