Would you like to be part of the RWE IT Infrastructure department supporting the delivery of change and technical innovation for the group?

Reporting to the Lead of FinOps Practitioner within the Cloud & Data Centre team (C&DC), this role will help build the knowledge, team, and policies that will help our organization understand and control costs in the Cloud. Working closely with colleagues in Cloud Engineering, Cloud Platform, Finance, and Commercial, you will develop and operate a robust program for Cloud Financial Management, including but not limited to tagging frameworks, governance models, budgets, cost optimization lifecycle, chargebacks, and finance integration.

1. Utilize Cloud native and third-party cost management tools to drive commercial and cost avoidance optimizations across our Cloud estate based on Azure.
2. Provide expert knowledge on cloud cost optimization strategies (e.g., rightsizing, reserved instances/savings plans, scheduling, processor/instance types).
3. Build, maintain, and improve custom reports and dashboards to deliver weekly/monthly cost reporting based on Power BI platform.
4. Collaborate with Cloud Engineering and Cloud Platform teams to implement cost optimization recommendations and best practices.
5. Define and implement a new FinOps governance framework and roadmap of FinOps activities to maximize and optimize our Cloud spend.
6. Demonstrate strong experience in Cloud cost optimization and the Cloud FinOps sector.
7. Have a strong understanding of Azure compute technologies.
8. Possess knowledge and understanding of Public Cloud pricing schemes.
9. Conduct moderate FinOps meetings with DevOps engineers, documenting collaborative approaches and setting objectives for evolving dashboard reporting.
10. Manage and execute commitment-based savings plans for Azure, Cloud cost management tooling, and dashboard building.
11. Work independently with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
12. Communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral forms.
13. Show cultural awareness and willingness to travel (mainly between UK and Germany).

Advantages, but not a must

• Ideally certified at foundation level for respective platform (Azure compute technologies).
