RWE Offshore Wind is seeking a Senior Financial Manager to join the Projects & Investments UK&I and Southern Europe team (P&I UK&SE) to support large-scale offshore wind farms. The role is a key project position, responsible for coordinating and steering all financial workstreams from early development through auction bid, FID, commissioning, and handover to operations.

With an international team across Europe, USA, and Asia, this position offers an opportunity for a self-motivated individual to be part of a growing team with significant potential in offshore wind for the UK. The role requires intellectual flexibility, cultural sensitivity, and hybrid working, with some travel expected.

Your future responsibilities

• Support the wider financial team in project activities
• Coordinate finance workstreams, including:
• Managing the business case process and updates
• Owning the assumption and cost books
• Aligning financial models with project owners and steering financial advisors
• Managing project risk & opportunity registers, contingency analyses, and insurance coordination
• Overseeing cost management systems, contract management, and change control
• Coordinating accounting and tax workstreams
• Managing budgeting, project cost controls, and investor cash calls
• Collaborating with legal, procurement, and commercial teams
• Developing bankable project structures, including contracts
• Challenging financial assumptions through benchmarking and analysis
• Identifying areas to optimize project economic return and presenting recommendations
• Monitoring project economics and reporting results to stakeholders
• Representing finance at steering committees and board meetings
• Addressing grid connection financial considerations
• Supporting bid group preparations and bid tactics development
• Preparing project approval documents
• Establishing project governance aligned with project owners
• Ensuring financial best practices and sharing lessons learned

Your profile

• 4-6 years’ experience managing large-scale projects, preferably offshore or power plants
• Broad finance background (valuation, project financing, controlling, procurement)
• Accounting experience is a plus
• Degree in business administration, engineering, banking, or economics
• Structured working approach, high analytical and communication skills
• Experience leading and motivating teams
• Ability to work in international groups and present effectively
• Fluent in English; German skills are beneficial
• Trustful, integrative personality
• Willing to undertake business trips as required
• Capable of working independently and in international teams
