Job Description

Primary Function of Position :

The Senior Financial Analyst will be a member of the FP&A department that supports the German manufacturing & service sites, currently Emmendingen / Freiburg and Biebertal. The job owner will be involved in further developing and standardizing the controlling and reporting tools to support effective decision-making of our business partners.

Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Preparation, reporting and analysis of monthly and quarterly financials for the German manufacturing & service sites as part of month-end, quarter-end, forecast and budget cycles
  • Develop and maintain business partner relationships with regional site leaders and their teams
  • Drive quarterly expense, capital and headcount forecasts and annual budget processes in close cooperation with business partners
  • Perform active cost controlling by reviewing and approving purchase requisitions and headcount requests in accordance with budget commitments, identify risks & opportunities & agree on trade-offs with business partners
  • Preparation of target-performance analyses / variance analysis as well as development of recommendations for future actions and strategies
  • Perform yearly standard cost roll process for the European manufacturing & service sites
  • Continuous improvement and streamlining of current FP&A processes and reporting
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports or analysis

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred e.g. in business administration or similar, ideally with a focus on Finance, Accounting and Controlling
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the field of controlling / financial planning & analysis
  • Experience in a production environment
  • Knowledge of HGB; knowledge of US-GAAP is a plus
  • Very good knowledge of SAP
  • Experience with financial planning and reporting systems; experience with Tableau and SQL coding are a plus
  • High level of integrity, commitment, and ethics
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in MS Excel, solution-oriented thinker with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, structured work approach with a collaborative team-oriented mindset
  • Good energy level and active participation by influencing Business Partners based on data analytics
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, intermediate skills in German
