Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) is advantageous.
• Several years of experience in financial accounting, ideally in a German business environment.
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB); IFRS knowledge is an advantage.
• Understanding of German tax regulations incl. VAT and statutory reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, DATEV, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Mansioni

A successful and growing company with strong VC backing is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant to join its finance team in Germany.

The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing financial accounting activities, ensuring compliance with German statutory requirements, and supporting accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS, where applicable.
• Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management reports and financial analysis.
• Support the preparation of annual financial statements (Jahresabschluss).
• Ensure compliance with German tax regulations, including VAT (Umsatzsteuer) and corporate tax requirements.
• Support statutory reporting and local compliance requirements.
• Monitor balance sheet accounts and ensure accurate financial records.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls and accounting procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) is advantageous.
• Several years of experience in financial accounting, ideally within a German business environment.
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB); knowledge of IFRS is an advantage.
• Understanding of German tax regulations, VAT and statutory reporting requirements.
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, DATEV or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Fluent German and good English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with international finance teams.
