Role Background

Wolt is a Finnish technology company best known for our food delivery platform. We have grown significantly in the last three years, expanding from four countries in the Nordics to 23 countries across Europe and Asia today.

Our Finance team has played a key role in this journey, supporting our global operations from our central Helsinki hub. This dedicated team of professionals has made scaling look effortless!

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to focus on local accounting efforts in Germany and Austria. You will sit with the Country Controller and local teams in Berlin, working closely with the centralized Finance team in Helsinki. The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for local compliance and reporting for specific entities, and will also help improve local scalable accounting processes, assist with accounting inquiries, payment follow-ups, report explanations to restaurant partners, debt reconciliations, and vendor communications.

What You'll Be Doing

• Participate in all aspects of Wolt Germany and Austria, including accurate and timely monthly reporting, annual financial statements, and statutory reporting.
• Create fully reconciled financial positions for the countries listed.
• Contribute to local and global finance initiatives, process implementations, and ensure compliance with global policies.
• Maintain strong relationships with local auditors, authorities, and management both locally and internationally.
• Collaborate closely with local teams to support financial matters.
• Work with the R2R team, including GL accountants, AP, and AR specialists, on daily tasks.
• Support the Country Controller with ad hoc tasks as needed.

Our Humble Expectations

• Experience with local statutory accounting and tax compliance.
• Background in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Masters degree in accounting, CPA/ACCA, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with IFRS is a plus.
• Proven ability to solve problems independently in a fast-paced setting.
• Comfortable handling both daily tasks and larger projects.
• Experience with NetSuite is advantageous.
• Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written.
• Ability to work in Berlin; hybrid work model with a mix of in-office and remote work.
