Job Description

Hiring: Sr. Field Service Technician – Direct hire with leading semiconductor equipment firm (Canon Stepper) for Germany

LOOKING FOR GERMAN

Role: Sr. Field Service Engineer

Industry: Semiconductor (Canon Stepper lithography machines)

Type: Direct hire, salaried

The candidate must have experience installing and/or servicing semiconductor lithography Canon steppers and/or scanners.

BASIC FUNCTION:

To provide onsite service support and expertise to customers and junior Service Technicians in diagnosing, analyzing, installing, servicing, and maintaining Canon photolithography equipment (steppers and scanners) while adhering to operational goals, objectives, policies, and training procedures.

Experience:

• 5+ years of Canon photolithography service/maintenance experience.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Skilled in the use of a PC along with Microsoft Office applications.

• Ability to lead the coordination effort of equipment installations and repair projects.

• Knowledge to identify and prioritize operational and personnel problem areas, and the ability to solve problems and execute policies and procedures.

• Skilled in the use of hand tools, electronic tools, gauges, and equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Provide technical onsite and phone support to customers and junior Service Technicians in the installation, service, and maintenance of Canon photolithography (steppers and scanners) equipment.
  2. Provide accurate and detailed daily pass downs when working at customer sites.
  3. Provide formal and informal customer training onsite when needed.
  4. Ensure service tooling and testing equipment are maintained in good operational and accurate condition.
  5. Share professional service skills with other service technicians.
  6. Meet or exceed all project/service budget and profit objectives.
  7. Maintain high quality assurance standards.
  8. Develop and/or implement service procedures with the Service Manager and other Service Technicians.
  9. Stay updated on technical trends, advances, and improvements affecting the Service Department.
  10. Maintain state-of-the-art technical knowledge of the industry.
  11. Interface professionally with customers, even in stressful situations.
  12. Resolve problems proactively, functioning as a troubleshooter to prevent operational issues.
  13. Consult with customers and technicians to determine appropriate timing for replacing parts.
  14. Meet with customers regarding questions, schedules, and updates, providing written pass downs.
  15. Identify opportunities to provide or upgrade equipment, spare parts, and services beneficial to the company.
  16. Respect and maintain confidentiality of company information.
  17. Ensure field reports are accurate and complete.
  18. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Service Manager.
  19. Maintain a positive company image when interfacing with customers and vendors.
