Opportunity: Field Application Engineer - In-Car Entertainment
We are seeking a talented Field Application Engineer to help bring Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision to automotive markets. This role involves working with car manufacturers, Tier 1 OEMs, and software developers, providing technical support during pre-sales, integration, and post-sales phases of Dolby's licensed technologies.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of commercial wins aligned with European automotive goals.
- Provide systems-level support for Dolby Audio Technologies to automotive customers.
- Assist in resolving technical issues during product development and deployment.
- Offer pre-sales support, technical training, and collaborate with sales teams.
- Analyze customer systems related to in-vehicle infotainment, streaming, and acoustics.
- Guide customers through Dolby’s certification processes.
- Collaborate with the European sales team to promote Dolby technologies in automotive and consumer electronics markets.
- Document key learnings and share knowledge within Dolby.
- Provide expert advice to peers and customers, enhancing Dolby’s technical expertise.
- Stay informed on industry trends, entertainment practices, and market developments.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree or equivalent in Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or Music Technology.
- At least one year of experience as a Sales Engineer.
- Understanding of audio/video technologies in entertainment or automotive sectors.
- Ability to develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Dolby products and technologies.
- Self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel (~30% within Europe) and work outside normal hours when needed.
- Calm, clear thinking, and objective-focused, with a collaborative approach to objections and negotiations.
Preferred Skills
Experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Automotive supply chain and software stack understanding, including infotainment systems.
- Audio expertise, including digital audio, spatial audio, acoustics, and sound measurement.
- Video fundamentals, codecs, standards, and display technologies.
