Responsibilities
- The Senior Expert Global Technical Fleet Manager is responsible for monitoring the efficient operation of a global fleet of mining machinery, focusing on fleet condition, monitoring, performance tracking, and ensuring all technical issues are recorded, consolidated, and prioritized for resolution.
- Acts as a key liaison between sales, service, and development to promote seamless communication, identify customer issues and needs, and ensure effective delivery of solutions to meet operational and customer satisfaction goals.
- Provides technical support directly and indirectly to our customers and distributors.
- Develops and implements customer service strategies.
- Monitors all mining machinery operated globally with mtu (trucks, excavators, loaders, etc.) using telematics and fleet management tools.
- Analyzes fleet data to evaluate performance, predict potential failures, and optimize fleet utilization.
- Reviews fleet performance metrics such as fuel consumption, operating hours, and wear of critical components.
- Provides technical expertise to diagnose and resolve fleet and mechanical failures, minimizing downtime.
- Collaborates with on-site teams to identify causes of failures and implement corrective actions.
- Establishes and maintains emergency repair procedures to quickly address critical failures and operational disruptions.
- This is a global role involving interaction with partners, SSCs, and internal senior management to report on the status of the global mining fleet and resolve issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 5 years of professional experience or an equivalent technical training plus 9 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
- Extensive experience with installation, commissioning, and testing of diesel engines.
- Familiarity with mining machinery and their operation.
- Excellent understanding of combustion engine functionality.
- Strong skills in creating nomenclatures and conventions.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Multiple years of project management experience.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (50%).
