Responsibilities

1. The Senior Expert Global Technical Fleet Manager is responsible for monitoring the efficient operation of a global fleet of mining machinery, focusing on fleet condition, monitoring, performance tracking, and ensuring all technical issues are recorded, consolidated, and prioritized for resolution.
2. Acts as a key liaison between sales, service, and development to promote seamless communication, identify customer issues and needs, and ensure effective delivery of solutions to meet operational and customer satisfaction goals.
3. Provides technical support directly and indirectly to our customers and distributors.
4. Develops and implements customer service strategies.
5. Monitors all mining machinery operated globally with mtu (trucks, excavators, loaders, etc.) using telematics and fleet management tools.
6. Analyzes fleet data to evaluate performance, predict potential failures, and optimize fleet utilization.
7. Reviews fleet performance metrics such as fuel consumption, operating hours, and wear of critical components.
8. Provides technical expertise to diagnose and resolve fleet and mechanical failures, minimizing downtime.
9. Collaborates with on-site teams to identify causes of failures and implement corrective actions.
10. Establishes and maintains emergency repair procedures to quickly address critical failures and operational disruptions.
11. This is a global role involving interaction with partners, SSCs, and internal senior management to report on the status of the global mining fleet and resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 5 years of professional experience or an equivalent technical training plus 9 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Extensive experience with installation, commissioning, and testing of diesel engines.
• Familiarity with mining machinery and their operation.
• Excellent understanding of combustion engine functionality.
• Strong skills in creating nomenclatures and conventions.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Multiple years of project management experience.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (50%).
