Responsibilities
- Ensure the quality and compliance of financial reporting according to IFRS and HGB, develop and implement relevant controls, and create technical accounting memoranda.
- Support in ensuring IFRS compliance of group financial reporting, prepare accurate and timely monthly consolidated financial reports, and optimize financial reporting including the use and optimization of financial reporting software (Disclosure Management Tool).
- Participate in special projects such as M&A, IT implementation, and harmonization of accounting processes, as well as monitor the application of relevant standards in complex projects (e.g., IFRS 15 in shipbuilding).
- Contribute to compliance with capital market requirements in a publicly listed environment.
- Advise and support business units on accounting-related questions, especially regarding IFRS and HGB rules, and serve as the contact for auditors during group audits.
Qualifications
- Completed university degree, ideally with a focus on accounting/audit or finance.
- Several years of professional experience, preferably in a similar role in group accounting of a publicly listed company or at an auditing firm.
- Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS and HGB, with experience in implementing and optimizing IFRS processes and governance.
- Deep specialized knowledge in at least two complex accounting areas (e.g., lease accounting, impairment testing, revenue recognition).
- Self-motivated, structured work style, analytical thinking, and assertiveness.
- Good communication skills in German and English, with proficiency in financial reporting software (Disclosure Management Tools), ERP systems, and MS Office.
