Job Description

Senior Engineer – SPICE Simulator Development

We ensure that Infineon’s in-house circuit simulator stays a first-class tool – but what is in it for you? Secondly: IMPACT – you will be in a position to influence simulation methodology used by Infineon’s designers worldwide.

In your new role you will:

1. Develop Infineon’s circuit simulator (InfineonSpice)
2. Develop and optimize the simulator for maximum performance, features, and maintainability
3. Improve existing software modules, including refactoring and maintenance
4. Support our worldwide user community and field application engineers
5. Write technical documentation
6. Participate in EU-funded projects relevant to Infineon simulation communities

As a Senior Staff Engineer in Circuit Simulator Development, you will inspire others with your ideas, explain complex issues clearly, and actively seek optimal solutions. You will demonstrate strong communication skills and establish lasting relationships and networks.

You are best suited if you have:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Numerical Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields
• At least 3 years of experience in numerical algorithms, simulation software engineering, or EDA
• Advanced programming skills in C++/C in Unix/Windows; familiarity with Fortran is a plus
• Deep understanding of numerical methods and sparse matrix techniques
• Proficiency in high-performance data structures, algorithms, memory optimization, and multithreading
• Hands-on experience with SPICE simulators (e.g., LTspice, SIMetrix, Cadence Spectre, Synopsys HSPICE)
• Previous experience in circuit simulator development (preferred)
• Familiarity with agile development methods
• Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Excellent English communication skills; German skills are a plus
