Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer at Rockwell Automation, you will participate in the design, implementation, and testing activities for industry-leading Manufacturing Execution System (MES) products integrated with machine automation, control systems, and ERP software.

Your responsibilities include:

1. Participating in product requirements development, architectural design, coding, and testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
2. Collaborating with global cross-functional teams to foster open and direct communication, honesty, and respect.
3. Reporting to your manager in Karlsruhe, Germany, with a hybrid work schedule in Karlsruhe.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop MES software products using modern CI/CD tools.
• Participate in quality processes, including reviews, testing, and debugging.
• Contribute to an Agile (SAFe) environment and promote Agile practices.
• Implement new software features with detailed design and development.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience in software product development.
• Knowledge of Java, Jakarta EE, and Spring.
• Experience with object-oriented analysis, design patterns, and domain immersion.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of domain-driven design, data structures, algorithms, and Jakarta EE.
• Experience with cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), API development, databases, CI/CD, and DevSecOps.
• Understanding of industrial automation and MES applications.
• Experience working with distributed teams and proficiency in English and German.

Work Policy
