Airbus Defence and Space GmbH in Manching is building a new Connectivity Design Hub and seeks a Senior Comms Engineer/Architect/Lead to own end-to-end development of Connectivity Systems, including Satcom and Datalinks, from concept to qualification for air power programs. Located near Munich, Manching offers growth in a brand-new team that blends deep connectivity expertise with ambitious new programs.

You will lead integration and design activities, align with strategy, and drive innovation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Communications, Aerospace, or Software Engineering.
• 9+ years of professional experience in connectivity or aerospace systems.
• Proven expertise in Satcom and integration across complex architectures.
• Strong collaboration and leadership skills, with cross-functional work.

Responsibilities

• Leading technically specific programs.
• Definition and Design of the Connectivity architecture.
• Support Customer meetings and Top Level requirements generation.
• Alignment with Domain Connectivity Strategy considering National Programs specific requirements.
• Suppliers Selection, RFP and RFI generation and analysis with Procurement.
• L1/L2/L3 Requirement definition and validation.
• Support interface definition of interfacing systems and equipment.
• Ensure requirement traceability and coverage.
• Support L2/L3 system test activity.

Let's make use of your proven Senior Expertise in helping us building the "Manching Footprint" of Connectivity & Comms. We are looking for a Senior Comms Engineer/Architect/Lead who thrives in "Brand New" environments. Based in our new Manching Design Office, you will take the lead on end-to-end development—from first concept to final qualification of all Connectivity Systems such as Tactical Datalinks (as but not only L-16), Comms Managers, IFDL, IVDL, CCAs C2 links for Air Power products such as Fighters, FCAS, CCAs, MuT, A400M…

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

• Leading Technically specific programs
• Definition and Design of the Connectivity architecture
• Support Customer (German mainly) meetings, Top Level requirements generation
• Alignment with Domain Connectivity Strategy considering National Programs specific requirements
• Suppliers Selection, RFP and RFI generation and analysis together with Procurement
• L1/L2/L3 Requirement definition and validation
• Support interface definition of interfacing systems and equipment
• Ensure requirement traceability and coverage
• Support L2/L3 system test activity

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications/Aerospace-/Software Engineering or comparable studies
• At least 9 years of professional experience
• Senior Expertise in Connectivity Systems such as Satcom
• Senior Expertise in System Design and Development
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, showing a great team spirit
• Fluent in English
