Huawei Technologies in Munich is seeking a Senior Engineer to advance digital signal processing for optical networks. You will conduct innovative research and develop algorithms for high-speed, high-capacity systems, including coherent and direct-detect optics.

Jointly with a European team, you will push the boundaries of optical communications, information theory, and machine learning, using Python and C, and exploring AI-driven optimizations for performance and power efficiency.

Formación

• PhD degree in Electrical / Communications Engineering.
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience after completing the PhD in optical networking.
• Deep experience with optical communication systems, digital signal processing, information theory, coding, and machine learning.
• Proficiency in Python and C; experience coding with LLMs.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Your mission

• Conduct innovative research in optical communication and digital signal processing to advance modem technologies for high-speed, high-capacity networks.
• Develop and test algorithms to improve the performance of optical systems and signal processing techniques for coherent and direct-detect optics.

Key qualifications

• PhD degree in Electrical / Communications Engineering at a recognized university on the topic of signal processing.
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience after completing the PhD in optical networking.
• Deep experience with optical communication systems, digital signal processing, information theory, coding, and machine learning.
• Proficiency in Python and C; experience coding with LLMs.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
