Job summary

Huawei Research Center Germany in Munich is seeking a Senior Engineer to advance spatial awareness algorithms for hearing health. You will develop, test, and optimize algorithms and measurement setups in a collaborative, international team.

The role requires strong spatial audio processing expertise, proficiency in Python/C++, and fluency in English, with the ability to work independently on complex tasks.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, Acoustics, Audiology, or related field.
• Strong theoretical and hands-on expertise in spatial audio signal processing.
• Familiarity with hearing health algorithms and real-time audio constraints is a plus.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C/C++, or similar.

Huawei's Munich Research Center is responsible for advanced technology research, architectural development, design and strategic engineering of our products.

Audiovisual Technology Lab in Huawei Munich Research Center is developing innovative technologies in the field of acquisition, encoding and decoding, processing and presentation for the media field, including audio, video, image and graphics. You will contribute to these activities being inserted into an international and experienced team of researchers.

Your mission

• Contribute to innovative algorithm R&D for spatial awareness enhancement in hearing health scenarios.

• Create and optimize measurement setups and test procedures to validate algorithm performance.

• Fine-tune and parameterize algorithms to achieve optimal quality and system efficiency on resource-constrained hardware.

Your areas of expertise

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, Acoustics, Audiology, or related fields.

• Strong theoretical and hands-on expertise in spatial audio signal processing.

• Familiarity with hearing health algorithms (e.g., WDRC compression, noise reduction, feedback cancellation) and real-time audio constraints is a plus.

• Strong programming skills in Python, C/C++, or similar.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently on complex tasks.

• Fluency in written and spoken English.
