For our Hamburg office, we are hiring a (Senior) Energy Trading Market Access Software Specialist / 2nd Level Support in the Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) Market Access & Intraday Solutions team.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for ambitious IT professionals seeking a challenging, diverse position within a leading energy company in a rapidly evolving trading environment.

Market Access enables BA Markets through timely application development and support in Energy Trading. Responsibilities include system analysis, daily support, change management, coordination with external software vendors, configuration, market change follow-up, and trader support.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Interact directly with traders, software vendors, and IT teams within Vattenfall
2. Provide technical support and resolve issues for trading operations
3. Facilitate trade execution and automate trading processes collaboratively with vendors
4. Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot Front Office IT systems
5. Drive continuous improvements in tools and processes
6. Participate actively in SCRUM events and adhere to agile methodologies

Candidate Profile:

We welcome career changers, including those from banking or finance backgrounds, eager to learn and grow in this field.

• Degree in Business and Information Technology, Engineering, or related fields
• Experience with marketplace connectivity, IT network architecture, and low latency communication, supporting systems like E*Star, Trading Technologies, Trayport
• Experience with Splunk, Grafana, Kafka, Jenkins
• Knowledge of news & data providers like LSEG (Reuters/Refinitiv) and Bloomberg is beneficial
• Experience supporting Front Office in trading environments
• Strong IT support and operational experience
• Willingness to cover full service chain, from support to vendor coordination
• Analytical, systematic problem-solving skills
• Reliable, passionate about work, effective communicator
• Fluent in English; German or Swedish skills are a plus
