Acts as a project leader and carries out assignments requiring mastery of the technical aspects of electric and natural gas energy efficiency. Responsible for monitoring the technical rigor of energy efficiency programs and recommending plans for process improvements.
This is a hybrid role.
Essential Functions:
- Displays a broad range of technical knowledge as an energy efficiency subject matter expert and applies knowledge to successfully implement programs, initiatives, and strategies.
- Coordinates with product development, energy consulting, sales, marketing, and planning teams to refine existing customer offerings and seek opportunities to expand and improve them.
- Provides leadership and guidance to program teams. Trains internal and external market actors on energy efficiency technical strategies, processes, and techniques.
- Executes budgeting, invoicing, evaluation, and tracking of expenses of technical service contractors; leads the development of RFPs for contracted services.
- Responsible for review and approval of complex projects/programs, requiring understanding of engineering analysis, implementation strategies for new technologies, or energy simulation modeling.
- Manages development and coordination of calculation procedures and tools to meet regulatory compliance and oversight of rate-payer funds for Energy Efficiency programs. Provides draft testimony or testifies as assigned.
- Supports and/or conducts inspections of equipment and operations in line with energy savings calculations and incentive program rules.
- Conducts detailed analysis of high-efficiency HVAC equipment, motors, controls, lighting systems, and other equipment to determine energy savings compared to baseline equipment or building codes.
- Leads the integration of strategic activities among customers, program administrators, advisory consultants, and vendors/contractors.
- Represents Eversource at national energy efficiency conferences and stakeholder events (e.g., ACEEE, ASHRAE, CEE). Leads the evaluation of new technologies and R&D activities.
Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong understanding of regulatory policy and processes.
- Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, air handlers, pumps, motors, VFDs, and process equipment.
- Ability to review building plans showing HVAC, lighting, and control systems.
- Familiarity with local energy codes.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Advanced degree in engineering, business, or marketing is desirable
Experience:
- Eight or more years of relevant engineering or technical experience. Customer service experience is a plus.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Engineer in Training (EIT), Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or LEED Professional preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
Eversource offers a competitive rewards program. Salary ranges from $112,360 to $124,840, commensurate with experience. The role may be eligible for incentives.
